RIP CHRIS DAGLEY
(23rd July 1971 - 28th July 2010)

Chris Dagley was one of Britain's most versatile drummers, equally at home playing jazz or rock. He was the Drummer in Ronnie Scott's House band (the James Pearson Trio) and was sadly killed on the 28th July riding his motorbike home from his set at Ronnie's. He will be sorely missed. Pictures of Chris Dagley from last years 50th Anniversary BritJazz Festival at Ronnie Scott's are shown above. He sadly leaves his wife, Jan and three young children.

RIP

Charlie Chan is a frustrated photographer and itinerant Cancer Surgeon from Cheltenham in the UK. Away from treating women with breast cancer, he indulges his passion in photography (along with music, rugby and motorsport).

At work, he likes to embrace the spirit of his patients. Likewise in his photography, he tries to capture the moment and the emotions. He came across his first Leica (M6TTL) in the 1990s and has never looked back. Now he shoots with his M6TTL and M2 as well as two Digital Modul R backs on his R8 & R9.

His pictures have been used by the Cheltenham Jazz, Science and Literature Festivals as well as artists such as Imelda May and Ruthie Culver.

Always one for horizon gazing, he is now planning his retirement career as a photographer. Just don’t tell his patients!

If you wish to indulge my career change, please note that prints are available for purchase directly from this site. If you wish to use an electronic image file, then please contact me directly by email/phone.

Just how many talents does this man have? Fantastic photos, Charlie. Don't want to spoil your fun time. But, as "one of your patients", I'm rooting for the day job! You are far too good at it!
